DOC3.13.14 CHANNELS (OPTIONAL)

This function allows the operator to add a channel in an area of the piece.
The interface for this function is similar to the following image:

Parameters

Distance from cut

The operator must enter the desired distance in mm from one of the edges of the piece.
To place the channel against the edge, leave the value at 0; otherwise, enter the desired distance.

Cut thickness

The operator must enter the channel working width in mm.

Cutting depth

The operator must enter the channel working depth in mm.

Start Distance

The operator can enter the distance in mm from the channel reference cut.

End Distance

The operator can enter the distance in mm from the reference cut of the piece for the channel.

Automatic drip systems

The operator can choose whether drip systems are to be created automatically on the piece after creating the channel.

Thickness

Material thickness.

NOTE

Start distance, end distance and automatic drip systems can be enabled or disabled using the buttons to the right of the value.
When disabled, Parametrix does not take them into account; when enabled, the program calculates the displacement.

Executing the working

Channel with start and end distances disabled

The channel is created at a distance of 250mm from the selected cut and extends along the entire length of the piece, with a working width of 100mm and a cutting depth of 10mm.

The channel is created at a distance of 250mm from the selected cut, with a working width of 100mm and a cutting depth of 10mm.

As shown, with a start distance of 100mm, the channel starts 100m from the selected cut.

The channel is created at a distance of 250mm from the selected cut, with a working width of 100mm and a cutting depth of 10mm.

Channel with automatic drip systems enabled

Drip systems are automatically added to the piece (for drip systems, see chapter 3.12.2).

The drip systems are positioned halfway between the channel and the nearest cut.

The operator can change the parameters related to channels from the slab working parameters panel.

Z quote work start
Allows the quote at which the machine must remain while it is not making cuts to be set.

Offset work
Thickness of material to be left above the desired final section.

Arc step
Allows the arc discretisation step to be set.

Probe check
Allows selection of whether or not to perform a check probe before the working is executed.

Forward
Indicates the cutting depth in the material when the machine cuts in the direction of disk rotation.
